First let me just say that I'm a semi-professional level designer, meaning that game and level design in particular is my chosen career, I even went to school for it, but I don't currently as of yet have an actual job as a level designer. So, when it comes to designing things in games, I actually know what I'm doing . In all seriousness, I do spend a lot of time and effort on my maps and put a lot of thought into every aspect and detail of them. I have over 40 different races (almost 50 by now I think) that I have made, and I put around 3-4 hours into making each one. I have also recently been inspired by Otto's patrols to start making some cooperative roleplay maps and patrols of my own.
If you do play any of my races, PLEASE give them a thumbs up, because it would be wonderful (and do wonderful things for my career) if Rockstar verified them, but they aren't even going to notice them unless they get a lot of thumbs up.
Note that you may have to friend me on the Rockstar social club to see the links to my maps/playlists. Click the "add to game" button to bookmark it in your game.
Coop Campaigns:
Completed:
Dead Ends: Because not every investigation works out perfectly. Link
This campaign of 5 maps starts you off as NOOSE (SWAT) members called in to deal with a terrorist holed up at a refinery, In the third map you switch to the role of IAA (CIA) officers chasing down some leads, then you change yet again to another role that I can't reveal without spoiling things, then in the final map you go back to IAA agents storming a compound in an epic finale. Dispatch isn't really needed for this one, but can be helpful on the third map.
Academy: Armed Engagements Link
This is a suppliment to Otto's already excellent academy playlist where cadets will learn the proper proceedure for armed conflict and will hopefully gain a sense of self-preservation. Why are all the enemies dressed as clowns? Because they are theater students from the local University (just to the north of the starting area) and this is their final exam, which counts for half of their grade. If they can act like they have been shot and/or bludgeoned convincingly enough, they pass! This map requires an instructor and all instructions are in the description. It also needs to be tested more and refined.
Unravelling:
This is a playlist of 4 patrols that have a continuous narrative throughout of finding leads and tracking down some criminal enterprises in the city. In it you are headquartered at the Vespucci PD, the westernmost police department in Los Santos. The twist is that your actions in the first map will determine which leads you are following and which criminal enterprise you unravel in the second and third maps. Either way, in the finale you will have a showdown with the organization behind it all. You will have to play this at least twice to see all that it has. This is a patrol and therefore requires a dispatch.
In Progress:
Unravelled:
This is going to be a playlist where you play as members of The Lost biker gang, headquartered mostly in their compound in East Vinewood, but at least one map will take place in Sandy Shores. Grab your sawed off shotguns, put on your best biker leathers, and hop on your bikes (Daemons or Hexers, your choice) and show Los Santos who owns this city. At least, as long as the cops don't interfere... As of now it is still only a concept, but I have at least 7 maps planned out right now, and it's going to be awesome.
Fireman RP:
Play as firemen! One player is the firestarter, who gets gas cans and molotovs, and sets fires around the city and calls in as a 911 operator reporting a fire (everyone else pretends he doesn't exist). You also get an ambulance and a police cruiser for extra realism. This mode still needs lots of testing for viability, as I am seriously concerned that the fires wont last long enough to allow the firemen to properly have a chance to respond to the fire. Much testing and refinement is needed.
Races:
When I make a race, I prefer some element of realism. I dont do wallrides, or crazy stunt tracks a thousand feet in the air, I prefer to keep my races grounded and to utilize the environment of Los Santos to make my races feel like they are taking place in the world. I carve my tracks out of the terrain, rather than building my own from scratch. Then I meticulously place props to best accentuate the race, for gameplay or for aesthetics, and I put my checkpoints to best facilitate gameplay and to make the race path as obvious as possible. I try to have the difficulty in my races come from the tight corners, or interesting obstacles and paths to navigate around, but never from trying to figure out the race itself. The way forward in my races should always be clear. If it isn't, if at any point during any of my races you don't know where to go, even for a second, please tell me, because this is a problem that I need to fix. Also feel free to tell me of any other problems you have in any of my races, or give me criticism or feedback on any of them. (Or typos or errors in the stuff I type here, for that matter)
I might write a guide for making races (both the basics and advanced things) someday.
I don't have enough time (or sanity) to describe every one of my 40+ races, so I'll give a description of some of my best.
I also have a playlist of my best maps here: Link
Stevedoring: Link
Definitely my best map ever, Stevedoring is a race for compact cars that weaves around the cargo containers at the docks. It features turns that are just the perfect size for compacts, eleven crossovers, and a bunch of hair-raising jumps, ensuring excitement around every tight corner. Note that this map is much more fun with more people.
Fording the River: FtR1 FtR2 FtR3.1
A race for Sandkings over, around, and through the whitewater rapids to the south of mount chilliad, and also through the swamps. If you like driving offroad, you will love Fording the River. I actually have three different ones, and I might someday make a version with monster trucks. The reason it is Sandking only is because it is the only truck that can really complete the course, and if I set it to just a single vehicle available then it will always disable custom vehicles in the race, which prevents someone from choosing a custom vehicle that can't even complete the course.
Crash Alley series: Link
A crash alley is half destruction derby, half race. Each one (there are 7 of them so far) features a long straight followed by a short turnaround which then brings you back down the way you just came - head on into your opponents! They also tend to feature some jumps and plenty of opportunities to smash your opponents off the road.
Canal Carnage: Link
The best boat race ever made! Boat races are usually very boring, driving around a flat area over water with some turns, well not mine! Race Jetmaxes down narrow canals with crazy jumps and then race up the shallow LS river, to an epic dam jump finale!
The Los Santos Rally: Link
Inspired by real life rally races (and games like WRC and Dirt) I tried to make a somewhat realistic endurance rally across all the fun dirt roads of Los Santos. It comprises of three different races in a playlist, each one akin to a stage in a rally race. Each subsequent race starts off where the last one ended, like a rally stage. The time of day and weather are set to "current" so that when the next stage begins, the time of day and weather continues on from the last one to give a sense of the race continuing where it left off. Be warned that these are endurance races, when making them I even ran out of checkpoints and had to go back and edit earlier parts of the races to give myself more checkpoints to work with. If you select the sports class (recommended) you will race in Kurumas, like a real rally race, motorcycles will get you dirt bikes, sedans will get you warreners, and off-road will give you a choice of any off-road vehicle, including customs if set.
If you do play any of my races, PLEASE give them a thumbs up, because it would be wonderful (and do wonderful things for my career) if Rockstar verified them, but they aren't even going to notice them unless they get a lot of thumbs up.
